Parasites are a hidden enemy in your body. If you are not de-worming your family and pets every 3 months you probably have parasites. Parasites can be inhaled, ingested with contaminated water and food, from handling raw fish, raw meat, from pets, insects and skin contact. Parasites are more common than people realise, and many are misdiagnosed as there are numerous symptoms that mimic those of other diseases and conditions.

Why it’s so important to get rid of parasites

Have you ever wondered why:

> Your energy level is low
> You have muscle aches
> Have difficulty losing weight
> You feel depressed, constipated, bloated or have recurrent diarrhoea
> You are acidic thus may have arthritis, gout or other degenerative illness

What are parasites?

Parasites are organisms larger than yeast or bacteria that can cause infection, usually in the intestines. The most common parasites to infect humans in the western world are Giardia, Entamoeba histolytica, Cryptosporidium, roundworm, hookworm, pinworm and tapeworm.

What are the symptoms of parasite infestation?

The range of symptoms that parasites can give us is quite astonishing, mimicking the symptoms of other diseases. Infection with parasites can be life-threatening in people with severe impairment of immune function.

There are around 4000 parasites that can cause enormous problems in our body, stealing our vitamins, minerals, releasing toxins, causing dysbiosis in your gut (lack of good bacteria), which may cause its perforation. Parasites can move throughout the body into the circulatory system, no part of the body is immune to parasites. They can also cause neurotransmitter disruption thus contributing to neurological illnesses.

Infants: severe colic, persistent banging of head against crib, chronic crying, blotchy rash.

Children: Dark circles under eyes, hyperactivity, grinding or clenching of teeth at night, constant picking of nose, scratching of behind, eating dirt, wetting bed, restless at night, crying for no reason, tearing out hair, brassy staccato-type cough, recurring headaches, sensitivity to light and bleeding gums, rectum or nose.

Adults: Bluish cast around lips, swelling of the abdomen, dark circles under the eyes, history of allergy, intermittent constipation and/or diarrhoea, persistent acne, anorexia, skin eruptions, PMS, bad breath, itching, pale skin, chronic fatigue, food intolerance, sinus congestion, difficulty in breathing, ringing in the ears, puffy eyes, palpitations, grinding the teeth, weight loss or gain, insomnia, depression, moodiness and sugar cravings.

How we become infected?

Parasites can be inhaled, ingested with contaminated water and food, from handling raw fish, raw meat, from pets, insects and skin contact. Heartworm can be hosted by dogs while toxoplasmosis by cats. Toxoplasmosis can also be found in meats such as lamb, pork, goat and beef. Walk barefoot on a tropical beach and you may be invaded by hookworm.

Shake your bedding and you may breathe in the eggs of pinworms. Eat contaminated beef and you may be inviting a giant tapeworm to take up residence in your body for 25 years and grow to 12 metres. Drink water contaminated with intestinal flukes and you may experience diarrhoea and abdominal pain.

Many people believe that because we live in a modern nation, it is only the third world that is infested. The reality is, that we live in a world of international travel and food supplies come from around the globe.

How to reducing your parasitic infestation

  • Foods such as pork, prawns and crab should be avoided
  • All vegetables should be thoroughly soaked in salt water and rinsed
  • Freeze meats for 3 weeks before consumption
  • Avoid eating raw or rare meats
  • Thorough hand washing
  • Avoid untreated water
  • Do a parastic detox at least once a year, ideally in spring.
  • Alkalising you diet will reduce infestation, as parasites prefer more acidic bodies
  • Changing self-limiting beliefs around allowing others to suck you dry. If you have friends who are parasitic, this will be reflected in internal parasites as well. This includes having healthy boundaries and being able to day “No”.
  • Blessing your food – in Theta Healing® we bless our food in a short meditational healing to energetic clean it from toxins, pesticides, animal trauma and GM modification.

Firstly the parasites must be neutralised or weakened so they will release their hold in the body’s structures. Secondly, the dead or weakened parasites and their toxins must be flushed from your system. Thirdly, the newly liberated systems should be supplemented with reinforcing nutrients to help regain strength and vitality. There are many parasitic detox kits available at health food stores which are very effective. Alternatively see a naturopath who can monitor you if you have chronic illness.

It is vital that the entire family, including pets be de-wormed at the same time. Parasites can be exchanged through kissing!

If pregnant or breastfeeding, DO NOT do this detox!

10 Detox Tips

1 Drink 2 litres of water daily, but not around meal times, especially for 1 hour after food. Warm water in the morning with some lemon juice is very good for cleaning out the system.
2 Exercise: Walking, get some sunlight; vitamin D. At least 30 minutes a day!
3 Detoxify your Bathroom The harmful chemicals that are in everyday products will not help your skin, complexion or health.
4 Detoxify your house by getting rid of the chemicals you are using every day in your home. They are not good for you and your family. Chemical cleaners may be linked to heart disease and cancer. Avoid fresheners and deodorisers; they contain chemicals that may trigger asthma and allergies.
5 Detoxify your digestive tract and colon with Neways Puri Tea or Neways NewVera which is a little gentler for those with sensitive stomachs.
6 Top-up all the vitamins, minerals and amino acids that the parasites have been stealing from you and keep you full of energy!
7 Let go of all relationships which are parasitic. See an earlier video blog on Etheric Cord Cutting.
8 Detoxify your skin: Make an Aromatherapy bath mix. A skin brush gets your lymph working. You can buy these at health food shops, brush in long strokes up the body towards the heart, and make the skin pink, gets the circulation going! At the end of your shower turn tap to cold and end with warm. This really gets the blood moving to these areas.
9 Detox your mind: This may sound strange but this is very important to start recognising that you can do anything you want to. Stop being hard on yourself, clear all those bad thoughts with replace with positive ones.
10 Lastly, clean out your cupboards. There is nothing like clearing the clutter. Give away clothes you have not worn for over 2 years. Put aside a day to make sure you have time to get to the charity shops, skip or recycling plant before you change your mind.
